Daylight
A bright eclipse
A sudden golden light
A strangely familiar face reveals a strangely familiar mercy
A tenderness of mystic worth –
Warm enveloping nostalgia that my cold, clenched fingers reach to touch.
Do I know you from some mysterious world?
Across the vast divide of space and time that I cant remember in my waking life?
But I do…
I do.
Your memory lives somewhere in the nucleus of atoms, which dance to form my heart
Magnetic sways, steps, gliding fluid motion of the nebulae’s dance
The graceful spin of galaxies
Circling orbits of comets long forgotten that blaze brightly through the dark space upon their return –
Foretold by ancient observers whose monoliths have since been reduced by the effort of ants.
On the tails of these harbingers of Providence is where my recollection of you resides
The sound of your laughter, the sound of your sobs
Reverberates through my silent vacuous density
Pulling me in spiraling gravity to remembrance.
Memory that warms my arteries and veins locked in atrophy
Memory that brings movement
Memory that brings fearless
Lucid
Combustion
Expansion
Ebullient dissolution
Ultimate herald of rebirth
Labor and delivery of a new galaxy within a mother universe immemorial.
Four chambers, four directions, four winds, one pulse in the center
Luminosity in glorious equanimity
Beckoning undiscovered botany to push from the stardust
To push from the dust and grow
Grow
Grow towards the effulgent countenance
And so doing releasing nutritious exhilarating breath which baptizes the newborn stratosphere
Sing, scream, cry, laugh, sob and gasp in rapture
We are consumed as we consume as we witness the world begin anew
Lift every voice in deep song as we orbit the symphonic sun to the rhythm of the drum
As I dance, gyrate, as I sway
Brilliant rays shine on my brown skin and cosmic fingertips caress my chest gently bringing my heart out of entropy
To shine on all forests, mountains, rivers and seas and blooms, laying the glittering veil of love and incandescent compassion
In gratitude and awe let us construct the temples anew
Lay flowers, bring fruit, burn pitch
Sing, dance and pray under the firmament
Thanks for this day
Thanks for this life
Thanks for the circle yet unbroken
Thanks for the center where the enduring original fire burns
In the middle of space.

Thanks to Life
(Violeta Parra)
Thanks to life which has given me so much,
It gave me two eyes that when I open them,
I can distinguish perfectly black from white,
And in the high heaven its starry background,
And in the multitudes the man I love.
Thanks to life which has given me so much,
It’s given me sound and the alphabet,
And with it the words that I think and declare,
Mother, friend, brother, and burning light,
The route to the soul of the one I am loving.
Thanks to life which has given me so much,
It’s given me sound that in all its magnitude,
Records night and day crickets and canaries,
Hammers, turbines, dogs’ barks, storms,
And the voice so tender of my good beloved.
Thanks to life which has given me so much,
It’s given me the steps of my tired feet,
With them I walked though cities and puddles,
Beaches and deserts, mountains and plains,
And your house, your street, and your patio.
Thanks to life which has given me so much,
It’s given me laughter, it’s given me tears,
Thereby I distinguish good fortune from ruin,
`The two materials that make up my song,
And the song of all of you that is my own song.
Thanks to life which has given me so much!

If you set yourself to your present task along the path of true reason, with all determination, vigour, and good will: if you admit no distraction, but keep your own divinity pure and standing strong, as if you had to surrender it right now; if you grapple this to you, expecting nothing, shirking nothing, but self-content with each present action taken in accordance with nature and a heroic truthfulness in all that you say and mean- then you will lead a good life. And nobody is able to stop you.
